|
Majohn is an “A” Honor Roll student at St. Paul Lutheran School in Jackson, Missouri where she is a student council representative and a member of the newspaper/yearbook staff. In addition, Majhon is captain of the Science Debate Team, was chosen to participate in the Duke University Talent Search, was a participant in the Advanced Math Counts Competition and received the Youth Walk Medal for outstanding leadership abilities. She also serves as a teacher’s assistant and a youth tutor for first and second graders. Majhon is an accomplished pianist and vocalist who has participated in the National Federation Junior Music Festival since 1997. She has also been involved with local Drama Club productions and was the youngest person to compete and place in the Jackson Optimist Club oratorical contest. She is the captain of her local basketball team, has received awards for her equestrian abilities and enjoys participation in golf and tennis tournaments. She is a member of the New McKendree United Methodist Church where she is a Junior Acolyte, is involved with children’s ministry and has recently completed an 18 week training course in Bible study. Majhon is also a youth volunteer for the Diabetes Assn., The M.S. Assn., The Alzheimer's Assn. and the Red Cross.

Mackenzie is a fifth grade gifted and talented student at L.L. Beazley Elementary in Prince George, Virginia where she has maintained an “A” average in every subject throughout her entire academic career. She is a member of the school choir, the intramural basketball team and was cast in a major part in her school’s musical production of The Music Man. In addition, out of 700 entries, Mackenzie’s artwork was chosen by the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia for their 2001 calendar. She also is very active on a local girl’s softball team where she was voted MVP in 1998 and 1999. In addition, she received the Grand Prize in a Statewide coloring contest sponsored by Healthy Foods Co. Mackenzie is a member of The New Jerusalem Fellowship Church where she performs in numerous choral groups and she received the second highest score in her Awana Club. She was also recognized by the Salvation Army for her volunteerism efforts, served as a counselor for mentally handicapped adults and participated in fund raising efforts for the Volunteer Search and Rescue Organization. As a hobby, Mackenzie enjoys collecting broadway memorabilia, spending time with her family and friends and enjoying every minute of her Pre-Teen America year. |

The Pre-Teen America National Scholarship and Recognition Program was
held recently at the Radisson Hotel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Two Hundred
Sixteen of America’s Best and Brightest top female Honor Roll Students,
ages 8-13 years old, competed for over $25,000 in educational bonds,
prizes and awards. |
