The
Pre-Teen California Scholarship and Recognition Program was held recently at
the Holiday Inn Select in Bakersfield, CA. California’s best and brightest
top female students, ages 7 to 12 years of age, competed for over $5,000.00
in educational bonds, prizes and awards. They were also vying for the
opportunity to represent the State of California at the 2006 Pre-Teen
America National Competition, to be held July 2-7, 2006 at the Sheraton
Hotel in Birmingham, AL. There they will be competing for over $25,000.00 in
educational bonds, prizes and awards.The participants competed in seven
evaluation categories. 1) Academic Achievement, 2) Volunteer Service to
Church and Community, 3) School Honors and Activities, 4) Development of
Personal Skills and Abilities, 5) General Knowledge, 6) Communicative
Ability and 7) “On-Stage” Acknowledgment of Accomplishments.
The following are Senior Division titleholder and Runner-Ups:
2005 Pre-Teen California (Sr. Division): Mackenzie Carter- 12 years old from
Bakersfield, CA.
1st Runner-Ups (Tied): Kathryn Wingfield - 11 years old from Paso Robles, CA
and
Tatianna Kufferath - 12 years old from Santa Maria, CA.
2nd Runner-Ups (Tied): Camille Loria - 12 years old from Palmdale, CA and
Sophie D’Arcy - 11 years old from Goleta, CA
3rd Runner-Ups (Tied): Hannah Muldavin - 12 years old from Elk Grove, CA and
Savannah Cornelison - 12 years old from Bakersfield, CA
and
Moriah Bartsch-Green - 12 years old from Fresno, CA
4th Runner-Ups (Tied): Jayne Hobin - 11 years old from Bakersfield, CA and
Allyson Goforth - 10 years old from Browns Valley, CA and
Danica Anderson - 11 years old from Susanville, CA and
Sarah Perez - 11 years old from Stockton, CA.
