The 2004 Pre-Teen Kentucky Scholarship and Recognition Program was held recently at the Galt House Hotel & Suites in Louisville, KY. Kentucky’s brightest and best top female honor roll students ranging in age from 7-12 years old competed for over $5,000 in educational bonds, prizes, and awards, as well as for the opportunity to compete in the 2005 Pre-Teen America National Competition to be held July 2-7, 2005 at the Holiday Inn-Select in Baton Rouge, LA. There they will have the opportunity to compete for over $25,000 in educational bonds, prizes, and awards. The participants were evaluated in seven judging categories including (1) Academic Achievement, (2) Volunteer Service to Community, (3) School Honors and Activities, (4) Development of Personal Skills and Abilities, (5) General Knowledgeability, (6) Communicative Ability, and (7) On-Stage Expressiveness and Overall Pre-Teen Image. 2004 Pre-Teen Kentucky SR Division Titleholder Ellie Green of Dixon 1st Runner-up (tie) Sarah Beth Hudgins of Worthville Chelsea Killman of Somerset 2nd Runner-up Lynsey Milburn of Mt Washington 3rd Runner-up (tie) Rachel Rhodes of Eddyville Aryon Young of Lewisburg 4th Runner-up Kristen Coots of Viper SR Talent Winner Lynsey Milburn of Mt Washington SR Speech Winner Maggie Donner-Sexton of Harrodsburg
