The Pre-Teen Georgia Academic and Enrichment Program was held recently at the Westin North in Atlanta. Georgia’s best and brightest female students, ages 7 to 12, competed for over $5,000 in educational bonds, prizes and awards. They were also vying for the opportunity to represent the state of Georgia at the 2009 Pre-Teen America Competition to be held in July 2009 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. There they will be competing for over $25,000 in educational bonds, prizes and awards. The participants competed in seven evaluation categories. 1) Academic Achievement, 2) Volunteer Service to Church and Community, 3) School Honors, 4) Development of Personal Skills and Abilities, 5) General Knowledge, 6) Communicative Ability and 7) On-Stage Presentation. The following are the Senior Division Winners 2008 Pre-Teen Georgia Senior Titleholder- Shelby Moss of Alpharetta 1st Runner-up (tie)- Elizabeth Trinh of Duluth and Amber Lewis of Vidalia 2nd Runner-up (tie)- Ashley Owusu of Statesboro, Lacie Gilliam of Dallas and Isabella Segala of Hampton 3rd Runner-up (tie)- Whitni Resides of Ringgold and Brittany Ashley of Evans 4th Runner-up (tie)- Emily Adams of Calhoun, Grace Earnhart of Dallas and Katielee Walker of Warner Robins Talent Winner (tie)- Melissa Lucas of Savannah and Isabella Segala of Hampton Speech Winner- Grace Earnhart of Dallas Spirit of Pre-Teen Georgia- Elizabeth Trihn of Duluth The following are the Junior Division Winners 2008 Pre-Teen Georgia Junior Titleholder- Mattilyn Winburn of Bainbridge 1st Runner-up- Lauren Moss of Alpharetta 2nd Runner-up- Joanna Foley of Calhoun 3rd Runner-up (tie)- Celebrity Baker of Savannah and Chloe Davis of Savannah 4th Runner-up- Tristen Sledge of Byron Talent Winner (tie)- Morgan King of Cohutta and Chloe Davis of Savannah Speech Winner- Mattilyn Winburn of Bainbridge Spirit of Pre-Teen Georgia- Shantel Perry of Savannah
