The Pre-Teen Louisiana Scholarship and
Recognition Program was held recently at the Radisson Hotel in Baton
Rouge, LA. One Hundred Fifty (186) of Louisiana’s best and brightest top
female students, ages 7 to 12 years of age, competed for over $5,000.00 in
educational bonds, prizes and awards. They were also vying for the
opportunity to represent the State of Louisiana at the 2005 Pre-Teen
America National Competition, to be held July 2-7, 2005 at the Radisson
Hotel in Baton Rouge, LA. There they will be competing for over $25,000.00
in educational bonds, prizes and awards.
The participants competed in seven evaluation categories. 1) Academic
Achievement, 2) Volunteer Service to Church and Community, 3) School
Honors and Activities, 4) Development of Personal Skills and Abilities, 5)
General Knowledge, 6) Communicative Ability and 7) “On-Stage”

2nd Runner-Ups (Tied): Elise Primeaux - 11 years old from Pineville, LA and Tara Hymel - 10 years old from Denham Springs, LA and Katie Massey - 12 years old from West Monroe, LA
3rd Runner-Ups (Tied): Faith Weatherly - 12 years old from Zachary, LA and Blair Blanchard - 12 years old from New Iberia, LA and Rachel Trafford - 11 years old from Shreveport, LA and Jessica Cooper - 11 years old from Lake Charles, LA
4th Runner-Ups (Tied): Alexus Smith - 12 years old from Bogalousa, LA and Viveca Valsaraj - 12 years old from Baton Rouge, LA and Catherine Coleman - 12 years old from Greenwell Springs, LA and Katelyn Von Dielski - 11 years old from West Monroe, LA.
