The Pre-Teen
Louisiana Scholarship and Recognition Program was held recently at the
Holiday Inn Select in Baton Rouge, LA. Over One Hundred Thirty (130) of
Louisiana’s best and brightest top female students, ages 7 to 12 years of
age, competed for over $5,000.00 in educational bonds, prizes and awards.
They were also vying for the opportunity to represent the State of Louisiana
at the 2006 Pre-Teen America National Competition, to be held July 2-7, 2006
at the Sheraton Hotel in Birmingham, AL. There they will be competing for
over $25,000.00 in educational bonds, prizes and awards.
The participants competed in seven evaluation categories. 1) Academic
Achievement, 2) Volunteer Service to Church and Community, 3) School Honors
and Activities, 4) Development of Personal Skills and Abilities, 5) General
Knowledge, 6) Communicative Ability and 7) “On-Stage” Acknowledgment of
Accomplishments.
The following are Senior Division titleholder and Runner-Ups:
2005 Pre-Teen Louisiana (Sr. Division): Katelyn Von Diezelski - 12 years old
from W.Monroe, LA.
1st Runner-Ups (Tied): Brittany Partain - 11 years old from Alexandria, LA.

Candace Franklin - 11 years old from Jackson, LA.
2nd Runner-Ups (Tied): Courtney Rachal - 10 years old from Robeline, LA and
Haley Johnson - 11 years old from Walker, LA and
Machaela Brabham - 11 years old from Baton Rouge, LA
3rd Runner-Ups (Tied): Meagna Desemar - 10 years old from Baton Rouge, LA

Sara Martin - 12 years old from Denham Springs, LA and
Taylor Boudreaux - 10 years old from Thibodeaux, LA
4th Runner-Ups (Tied): Amanda Martello - 11 years old from Denham Springs,
